Composer's Notes...
Psalm for Bassoon Choir is a piece I wrote during my first semester of college. My roommate at the time had just gone through a bad 'break up' and the tone in the room was very…sullen. I don't know how, but that is how I got the inspiration for Psalm. I purposely left dynamics out, only because this piece can be interpreted in many different ways. The idea to leave the dynamics in the hands of the performers allows for a wide range of interpretations of this piece, as well as individual musical growth.

Level 1: Elementary; typical first year player
Level 2: Elementary; typical second year player
Level 3: Intermediate; average middle school player
Level 4: Intermediate; average high school
Level 5: Advanced; high school or early college player
Level 6: Advanced; typical college level player
